The Company Jon-Jon Bakeries, formerly known as Auntie Edna’s Bakeries
Ltd, was founded in 1992. The operation is situated in the former premises of T.J Edmond, one of New Zealand’s longest standing and most successful baking supply companies. A completely independent company, Auntie
Edna’s Bakeries Limited quickly established itself as a leading supplier of speciality baking lines; both under the Auntie Edna name, and as plain packs and house brands for leading supermarkets and chain Outlets.
Ownership In 1999, Auntie Edna’s Bakeries Limited, was acquired by David Macalister and
business partner Tony Lavery. Both partners have considerable expertise in design, manufacturing and in the international sales and marketing arena.
A new brand name While maintaining and building on the reputation for
quality that Auntie Edna’s Bakeries Limited has become renowned for, the new owners made the decision to rebrand the product and company. The rationale being that a new more accessible brand would better
capitalise on the marketing opportunities available nationally and internationally. Hence the introduction of the JON-JON BAKERIES brand.
Personnel and Plant Finest ingredients, a stable, experienced permanent workforce, and highly
specialised. purpose built equipment, operated in JON-JON BAKERIES’ modern plant, ensure the quality and continuation of supply of all Jon-Jon Bakeries Products.

From raw materials, through manufacture and distribution, quality is paramount. Strict quality control systems and procedures are in place to ensure that all quality criteria are met through every stage. The product
as delivered, is guaranteed to be of the very finest quality.
Distribution Products are distributed throughout New Zealand in plain packs, as house brands,
and with Jon-Jon branding. Chilled products are exported to Australia by Air. Under optimum conditions, the shelf life on all Jon-Jon products with the obvious exceptions of muffins and slices, is 3 months, Stored
in controlled atmosphere situations, most products will remain fresh indefinitely.
